Maaskant (1907-1977), onder andere bekend van het Groot Handelsgebouw en de Euromast. De prijs wordt tweejaarlijks uitgereikt als een aanmoediging in de vorm van een reisbeurs ter waarde van € 3200. Over de toekenning van de onderhavige editie vergaderde op maandag 8 november 2010 een jury bestaande uit voorzitter Jacques van Heijningen (directeur Rotterdam Media Fund) en de leden Zoe Gray (curator Witte de With, centrum voor contemporaire kunst), Luuk Bode (illustrator), Ellie Uyttenbroek (stiliste), Vincent van Baar (grafisch vormgever) en Margareth West (modevormgever) in de academiegalerie aan de Witte de Withstraat.
